Chad always knew he wanted to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps. He grew up watching and learning from him how to hunt, fish and respect the outdoors. In 1991, Chad started to develop Chad’s Guide Service and became a full time fishing guide. Over the years, he has spent countless hours guiding on the many lakes the Bemidji area has to offer, including Cass Lake, Lake Bemidji and Lake Plantagenet to name a few.

In 2004, Chad headed north to Upper Red Lake and started Chad’s Red Lake Rentals. Since then, he has divided his time between the Bemidji area in the summer and Upper Red in the winter. In December 2018,

When Chad isn’t working, he spends his time shed hunting, archery hunting, and fishing on Lake Superior. He also likes to go to “the lakes less traveled” and spend the day fishing. His daughters keep him and wife Stefanie plenty busy. Together, they have McKenzie and Leah.

Top quality, excellent full customer service, newer deluxe Ice Castle wheel houses, and great stories. I've got it all! Join me on the frozen waters of Upper Red Lake and make your own story. I've got the newest models and updated Ice Castle Red Lake wheel fish houses. They are well kept, clean, and updated fish houses. All fish houses on Upper Red Lake are heated with a direct vent heating system, 2 burner cook top stoves are standard in all, tables and chairs are stocked and provided as well. Each house is a 4 bunk sleeper ice fish house with 8 holes. These Red Lake fish houses are custom built, 8 feet wide by 18 feet long that are moved with each customer. Carbon monoxide detectors are located in all the houses for safety concerns and 12 volt lights are there too. A battery is changed daily for the lights. All houses have a generator hook up outside with 110 volt lighting and receptacles. Bathroom break? We've got that covered to with 2 heated outhouses located near your ice house. We've truly got it all, come see for your self and enjoy this city on the ice!

Friday and Saturday $240 per night per house

(up to four people-Two night minimum)

Sunday - Thursday 1-3 people $150 per night...4 persons $200 per night.
